If you have a website that delivers static content, such as product catalogs, images, or user manuals, deploying it in the cloud can make managing traffic much simpler. This guide shows you how to host your site with Amazon Web Services by using Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) to store your content, Amazon CloudFront to serve it up, and Amazon Route 53 to use your own domain name to route users to your site.

Of course, I thought, I’m not going to be building out a purely static website, but I’ll skim it anyway.
Easy to follow and all you need
Just what you need to set up a basic, static website. Very clearly written and easy to follow for beginners.
This guide helped me get my static sites hosted on Amazon S3.
Nice to have a step by step guided tour of how it is done. The details no longer match the dynamic reality of Amazon S3, but the essential ideas remain useful. Just had to poke around a bit in Amazon’s updated interface to find what I needed.
Dont skip this starter because it explains how easy it is to one setup static hosting, plus edge servers for caching content closer to consumer, domain naming service configuration and a node for storing older log files.
